Which professional degree are you interested in?

Professional categories have different age limits, requirements and hours of training. If you are not sure which class you need, start with the vehicle you want to drive and contact the school to check your case.

C / C1

Truck

For trucks from 3,500 kg and above, depending on the category.

Bus for professional license class D and D1

For passenger transport by bus or smaller bus.

What you need to get started

Apply through the following link: drivers-vehicles.services.gov.gr/driving-licenses/dashboard.
You should have the taxi codes and your mobile phone entered on gov.gr. If you don't have it, you can through the following link: National Register of Communications - EMEp.
Go to an ophthalmologist and pathologist with the pin that we will give you. Before going to the pathologist you must have tests: urine, sugar, blood and chest x-ray. You must also have a military driving license or an official deferment. If you already have a professional driving license you will not go through doctors.
You should also tell the photographer to upload the photo and signature to myPhoto. It will give you a code number, which we want.
After doing these, authorize us in the first link.

Class C and C1

Issuance of truck license

With the C1 you can drive trucks from 3,500 to 7,500 kg and passengers up to 8 seats plus the driver, with a trailer up to 750 kg. With the C you drive vehicles over 3,500 kg with the ability to tow up to 750 kg.

Conditions

Be over the age of 18 for C1.
You must be 21 years old for C, or 18 years old if you also get a PEI
Have a VAT number, a valid identification document and an amateur B.
Not be a tax resident abroad, unless first checked by the school.

Doctors and exams

Ophthalmologist and pathologist required.
Before the doctor they need blood, sugar and urine tests, as well as a chest x-ray.
Military Driving license (not I5).

Training hours

A minimum of 16 hours of theoretical and 15 hours of practical training is required.

Class D and D1

Issuance of a bus license

With the D1 you can drive vehicles carrying up to 16 passengers in addition to the driver and a maximum length of 8 meters, with a trailer of up to 750 kg. With D you drive vehicles carrying more than 8 passengers.

Conditions

Be over the age of 21 for D1.
You must be 24 years old for D, unless you also get PEI, in which case the limit becomes 21 years old.
Have a VAT number, a valid identification document and an amateur B.
Not be a tax resident abroad, unless first checked by the school.

Issuance of truck and trailer license

Categories with E refer to sets of vehicles with a trailer or semi-trailer. To get these categories you must first have the corresponding professional category C1/C or D1/D.

What are you driving?

C1E: C1 with a trailer over 750 kg, with a total of up to 12,000 kg.
CE: C with trailer or semi-trailer over 750 kg.
D1E: D1 with trailer over 750 kg.
DE: D with trailer over 750 kg.

Conditions

Be over 21 for C1E/CE, or 18 if you have a PEI
For D1E/DE 24 years is required, unless you have a PEI, in which case the limit becomes 21 years.
Already have professional C1/C or D1/D respectively.
Have a VAT number and a valid identification document.

Training hours

A minimum of 10 hours of practical training is required.

PEI / Code 95

What applies to professional use

To drive a truck, bus or lorry professionally, you are required to hold a Certificate of Professional Competence, except for special exceptions.
The PEI appears with code 95 and requires a written exam and course.
For preparation you need a special book of about 300 pages and proper exam planning.
Exceptions may be for vehicles with a speed of less than 45 km/h, Armed Forces/Security Forces vehicles, emergency vehicles, test or driving lessons.

Indicative schedule

How does the professional driving license process proceed?

The timetable is indicative and not binding, because it depends on the availability of exams, PEI where required, Department of Transport workload and student readiness.

Online application and data verification

The application is made at gov.gr, checking myPhoto, authorization and supporting documents.

Issuance of a learner driver card

After forwarding the file, the learner driver card is issued.

Theoretically and PEI where required

Theoretical courses, category book examination and PEI are planned. where necessary.

Practical lessons and exam

After the required theoretical procedure, the practicals begin and then the practical exam is scheduled.

Provisional and new driving license

With a positive result, a temporary driving license is issued, followed by the receipt of the new driving license from the school.
