Legal residence
Foreigners are legal immigrants who have a residence permit and not just a work permit. Those who only have a work permit cannot get a driver's license.
WHO ARE CONSIDERED FOREIGNERS
Basic conditions for foreign applicants
In all cases of foreigners, in order to apply for any driver's license, they must have tax residence in Greece. Otherwise the request may be rejected.
Driving licensetic officers
They can only get amateur driving licenses and need a certificate from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' etiquette department instead of a residence permit.
Recognition of driving licenses
EU citizens and specific countries can replace their license with a Greek one. For other countries an application for a new license is usually required.
Exam languages
Written signs exist in Greek, English, Albanian and Russian. The practical exam and orals are in Greek.
