Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) is an advanced technology developed to improve driving comfort and safety. This system allows the vehicle to maintain a predetermined speed, while at the same time automatically adjusting the vehicle's speed to maintain a constant distance from the vehicle in front.

How it Maintains a Constant Distance from the Vehicle in Front

ACC works through a combination of sensors, such as radar and cameras, mounted on the front of the vehicle. These sensors constantly monitor the speed and distance of the vehicle ahead. The driver can set a desired speed and a minimum safety distance from the vehicle in front.

When the system detects a vehicle ahead, it calculates the distance and speed difference between the two vehicles. If the vehicle ahead is moving slower than your vehicle's preset speed, ACC will automatically reduce speed, using gentle braking if necessary, to maintain a safe distance. Once the vehicle in front accelerates or changes lane, the system will restore the speed to the level originally set by the driver.

In heavy traffic conditions, where the speed of vehicles changes frequently and the distance from the vehicle in front decreases, ACC proves to be particularly useful. Instead of the driver needing to constantly slow down and accelerate, ACC takes over this task by adjusting the vehicle's speed according to traffic conditions.

The system can slow the vehicle to a complete stop depending on traffic. For example, in traffic jams where vehicles move too slowly or stop frequently, ACC can brake and start the vehicle automatically, maintaining a predetermined distance from the vehicle in front.
