The special taxi license concerns those who want to drive a Public Use passenger vehicle, i.e. a taxi. The faculty guides you through the correct sequence of documents, books and exams.

General information

What you can drive with the special taxi license

With the special taxi license you can drive a Public Use passenger vehicle. You get the books from the Ministry when the file is submitted or from the driving school, if you entrust the processing to the school. A class B license is required and a criminal record is requested on an official basis.

Conditions

Who can initiate the process?

Have a category B amateur license.
Not be a public or private sector pensioner.
Have a clean criminal record. The criminal record is requested ex officio by the Ministry.
Have a valid identity card or Greek passport, or a residence permit.
Have a VAT number.
Have a primary school driving license if you were born before 1/4/1969 or a high school driving license if you were born after 1/4/1969.

What do you need to prepare?

Once you have gathered the following, you proceed to register with the school to organize the next steps.

01 Photographs
2 plain color photos are needed for the special permit.
02 Driver's license
A photocopy of the category B driver's license is required.
03 Residence permit
If you are a foreigner, you need a photocopy of your residence permit.
04 Medical examinations
An examination by a pathologist, ophthalmologist and psychiatrist is needed.

Exams and books

How does the examination for the special taxi license proceed?

The exams are determined by the relevant Transport department. In practice, signals are made about 1-2 times a month, so it needs timely preparation and proper planning.

Collection of supporting documents

Check conditions, identity card/residence permit, B-driving license, photos and medical examinations.

Folder deposit and books

You get the books from the Ministry upon depositing the file or from the school if it handles the processing.

Signal programming

Signals are scheduled approximately 1-2 times per month, depending on service availability.

The form is filled out after the supporting documents are made

After completing the above procedures and having collected the necessary supporting documents, fill in the student registration form at the school. After registration you will be given instructions on how to proceed.
